What a race..! But it won’t be a walk in the park for Robbo - there may be a couple of others there that can take it from him tomorrow.
Course records to crumble..? I wonder if GSP will still be the king of the esplanade..? It’s going to be a ripper..!

It’s a shame Jimmy Johnsen is still injured - that could have been good.  I hope Tyson is racing! He is in great shape at the moment apparently : )

Another great day of racing thanks to all that helped to make it such a great race. How far ahead were Attard & Carey? I didn’t even see them on the run that means they must have been finished when I still had 3K to go.Pity about Robbo’s flat.

It really was great to have not one, but three pros in the field on Sunday with Peter, Paul and Simon joining us for a hit out. Congrats to Paul on a great race. Sorry to see Robbo score a flat on the bike course but he was a great sport and was very encouraging and friendly.
Something shot past me at high speed as I approached the Civic Parade turnaround on my second lap on the bike. As I looked hard to see whatever it was I read the word “ATTARD”.
As predicted above, I think with Paul’s time of 28:48.7 I think this is pretty close to a new WSTC Esplanade record (I think GSP’s PB is around this time - TBC)
Anwyay, a great and succesful race by all accounts - a big thank you to the sponsors, the athletes and everyone who helped out on the day.

I can recall back in the mid to late 90s a very fast time was set by Brett Richinni over 22.5 ks. He averaged something like 42.5kph
