Hey all,
Less than ideal news - I’m out of NZ.
I had an accident at work back in April and found out a couple of weeks ago that I’ve torn 2.5cm of my supraspinatus away from my Humerus. No, it’s not funny! Got told on Wednesday that I have to have surgery and will be unable to swim for 4-6 months post surgery, which is tentatively scheduled for September, and doesn’t leave enough time to get my swim volume back up for NZ - it could be March before I even get back in the pool.
I thought I’d just swim and bike the race with one arm but my surgeon talked me out of that because then I’ll stuff the other shoulder. And, I’m not allowed out on my bike either, in case I come off and because it hurts too much when braking and changing gears, and I’m banned from aeros. So, it’s below the shoulder weights and spin bike and running only for me until like March.
I’m gutted to say the least. But I’m getting over it.
Anyway, I may come over and watch, but I can’t race.
On the plus side, there’s a couple of bits of gear that I’m putting up for sale - a brand new EVA bike pod and my wettie that I’ve only worn twice! See the noticeboard
Cheers,
Bish
